Symbiosis is one of India’s leading educational institutions, providing quality education across diverse fields for over four decades. Symbiosis also embodies the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam meaning ‘the whole world is one family’.
In recognition of the pioneering work done in the field of education, Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce was granted ‘Autonomy’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, effective from the academic year 2012-13. However, we continue to be under the Savitribai Phule Pune University, which confers degrees to our students. We are also proud to state that the UGC recognized us as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)’ in 2016. Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce was Reaccredited with an ‘A+’ and a 3.51 CGPA For Third Cycle By NAAC. Additionally, our college was conferred with Empowered Autonomous status by the UGC in July 2024.
At Symbiosis, we blend the wisdom of traditional education, with practical knowledge, utilizing contemporary global best practices in education. As a result, students who graduate from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce are equipped with a solid theoretical foundation and the relevant skills to apply their knowledge in practice.
Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce offers four-year programs in Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts under NEP 2020 as well as a 2-year program in Master of Commerce, Master of Arts in English/Economics/Psychology. Additionally, we provide Diploma and Certificate courses in Liberal Arts, through the Symbiosis Centre for Liberal Arts (SCLA), an initiative of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. In the 4th year, the student can pursue a BCom/BA with Honors degree or BCom/BA with Research degree. The Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce also offers BCom courses with syllabi integrated with professional bodies such as The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK, the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA leading to CMA certification) USA and the Institute of Analytics (IoA) UK, providing students with international-level certification.
