Dr. Tessy Thadathil has more than 25 years of teaching experience. Her doctoral thesis was in Non Financial Reporting. She has taught UG, PG and skill courses in her domain area. She has co-authored a book, presented research papers in national and international journals and also published in Scopus journals.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil, helped start the international certification programme ACCA at the college and is currently in-charge of both the integrated Bachelor’s programmes in ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK) & the Bachelor’s Programme in CIMA (Certified Institute of Management Accountants, UK) since the academic year 2022-23. She has also been in-charge of the International Initiatives of the college for more than 10 years, coordinating events and activities for inbound foreign students and overseeing outbound student exchange programmes, communicating, collaborating, and liaising with international universities. She was also invited for teaching at the University of Hildesheim, Germany under the Staff Mobility Programme of Erasmus +, in the winter term of 2017/18.
She partnered with Dr. Joachim Griesbaum to help initiate a project which is an online collaborative course on "Intercultural Perspectives on Information Literacy" in 2020/21. This project now includes the concept of "Metaliteracy" and in 2023/24 the project had instructors and students from six countries. Currently Dr Tessy Thadathil heads the Symbiosis Social Initiatives Programme (SSIP) and along with her team has helped execute research projects on themes such as Women and Hygiene, Financial Literacy, and Digital Literacy among Senior Citizens. Two of the projects were funded by Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), and the recommendations of one was also presented to and appreciated by the Ministry for Social Welfare and Empowerment.
