Dr. Tessy Thadathil has more than 25 years of teaching experience. She is currently the Officiating Principal of the Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce. She also heads the Department of Costing. Her doctoral thesis was in Sustainability Reporting.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil along with her team has helped in managing the Bachelor’s programmes integrated with the professional certification programmes of ACCA (UK), CIMA (UK), CMA USA. She has been in-charge of International Initiatives of the college for more than 10 years. She was also invited for teaching at the University of Hildesheim, Germany under the Staff Mobility Programme of Erasmus Plus, in the winter term of 2017/18.
She partnered with Dr. Joachim Griesbaum to help initiate a project which is currently a collaborative course titled "Intercultural Perspectives on Information Literacy & Metaliteracy (IPILM)”. This project now has instructors and students from six countries. She was invited to the international workshop of IPILM which was supported by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, Germany in August 2024.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil heads the Symbiosis Social Initiatives Programme (SSIP) and along with her team has helped execute research projects on themes such as Women and Hygiene, Financial Literacy, and Digital Literacy among Senior Citizens. Two of the projects were funded by Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), and the recommendations of one was also presented to and appreciated by the Ministry for Social Welfare and Empowerment.

Dr. Sheena Mathews is Professor and Head of the Department of Economics and Controller of Examination. With a robust academic career spanning 28 years, she brings exceptional expertise in Transport Economics, Microeconomics, International Economics, and Banking and Finance. Dr. Sheena Mathews holds a Ph.D. from Mumbai University, where her research focused on the economic analysis of travel demand behavior in Indian cities, with special reference to Pune. She also earned an M.Phil. from Pune University and is a UGC-NET qualified educator.
Dr.Sheena has made significant contributions to academic research, authoring and co-authoring multiple papers published in esteemed national and international journals. Her research spans critical areas such as sustainable urban transport, health economics, and student financial behavior. She has co-authored notable books including Changing Dynamics of the Indian Economy and Economics for Managers.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Mathews actively engages in shaping academic policy and student development at Symbiosis College. She serves as Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Economics, Faculty In-Charge of the Symbiosis Elocution and Debate Association and has played leading roles in various academic committees and student-centred initiatives.
Her excellence in teaching and research has been recognized through awards for curriculum design and best research papers at national conferences. She is also an active participant and organizer of national and international seminars, workshops, and symposiums aimed at addressing contemporary economic issues and has taken part in policy-driven projects like voter behaviour surveys in Pune.

Academic career spanning over 29 years at SCAC, I am proud to be the founder of the Psychology program at the institution. My teaching experience at the undergraduate level includes a wide array of subjects such as Foundations of Psychology, Experimental Psychology (Theory), Research Methodology, and Field Projects. At the Department of Psychology, we not only impart theoretical knowledge but also focus on developing professional competencies and instilling core human values among students.
At the postgraduate level, I have taught Research Methodology, supervised dissertations, and guided students through practicum and internships—particularly for those majoring in Industrial Psychology. I have also mentored students in Research Practicum, Internships, and Qualitative Research.
As an academic leader, I initiated the department’s unique platform “Mhan – The Expression,” which offers peer counseling services to students across the campus, promoting emotional wellness and peer support.
My academic contributions include presentations at various national and international conferences, over 30 research publications, and a book chapter published with a reputed academic publisher. As a passionate researcher, I have successfully completed a BCUD-sponsored research project and was a member of the international GLOBE Project (Canada).
I have been honored with the Best Innovation in Teaching Award, presented by Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar on the Foundation Day of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Additionally, I secured the Second Position at the Avishkar Inter-University Research Competition.

Dr. Santosh Antarlal Marwadikumbhar is a distinguished academician with over 18 years of teaching and research experience in the fields of Accountancy, Costing, and Human Resource Management. Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Accountancy, Business Law Human Resource Management and the Ph.D. Research Centre. He is In- charge of NSS Department also.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), along with M.Com., M.Phil., and dual eligibility in NET (JRF) and SET. Dr. Marwadikumbhar specializes in subjects such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Direct and Indirect Taxes, Financial Management and Capital Markets and has been a committed educator at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Nilesh Waghmare is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy and Costing, with over 12 years of teaching experience. He holds key positions, including Head of the Department of Business Administration, Head of The Placement Cell, and Head of the Marathi Drama Circle. Additionally, he is a recognized Research Guide in Accountancy subject at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
With over 12 years of experience as an Assistant Professor and nearly 4 years as Head of The Placement Cell, he has developed expertise in various areas, including Accountancy, Costing, Finance, Stock Market, Strategic Cost Management, Taxation, Research Methodology, and Business Case Studies.

Dr. Zakira Shaikh is an experienced academician with over 16 years of teaching at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and specializes in Marketing and Retail Management. She teaches across Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs and serves as the Teacher In-Charge for the B.A./B.Com (Honours) Degree Programme, focusing on academic innovation and student enrichment. Dr. Shaikh is also the Nodal Officer of the OJT/Internship Cell, actively connecting students with industry opportunities to enhance practical learning.
