Dr. Tessy Thadathil has more than 25 years of teaching experience. She is currently the Officiating Principal of the Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce. She also heads the Department of Costing. Her doctoral thesis was in Sustainability Reporting.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil along with her team has helped in managing the Bachelor’s programmes integrated with the professional certification programmes of ACCA (UK), CIMA (UK), CMA USA. She has been in-charge of International Initiatives of the college for more than 10 years. She was also invited for teaching at the University of Hildesheim, Germany under the Staff Mobility Programme of Erasmus Plus, in the winter term of 2017/18.
She partnered with Dr. Joachim Griesbaum to help initiate a project which is currently a collaborative course titled "Intercultural Perspectives on Information Literacy & Metaliteracy (IPILM)”. This project now has instructors and students from six countries. She was invited to the international workshop of IPILM which was supported by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, Germany in August 2024.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil heads the Symbiosis Social Initiatives Programme (SSIP) and along with her team has helped execute research projects on themes such as Women and Hygiene, Financial Literacy, and Digital Literacy among Senior Citizens. Two of the projects were funded by Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), and the recommendations of one was also presented to and appreciated by the Ministry for Social Welfare and Empowerment.

Academic career spanning over 29 years at SCAC, I am proud to be the founder of the Psychology program at the institution. My teaching experience at the undergraduate level includes a wide array of subjects such as Foundations of Psychology, Experimental Psychology (Theory), Research Methodology, and Field Projects. At the Department of Psychology, we not only impart theoretical knowledge but also focus on developing professional competencies and instilling core human values among students.
At the postgraduate level, I have taught Research Methodology, supervised dissertations, and guided students through practicum and internships—particularly for those majoring in Industrial Psychology. I have also mentored students in Research Practicum, Internships, and Qualitative Research.
As an academic leader, I initiated the department’s unique platform “Mhan – The Expression,” which offers peer counseling services to students across the campus, promoting emotional wellness and peer support.

Ms. Swarali Joshi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune. She has also completed advanced studies in German, including Special Diplomas in Commercial German and German Translation from Savitribai Phule Pune University, as well as the Goethe-Zertifikat C1 certification.
Ms. Joshi teaches Postcolonial Literatures, Gender Studies, Cultural Studies, Period Literature, Linguistics, Skill Development and European Literature to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has over four years of teaching experience, adopting an interdisciplinary, research-oriented approach to education.
Among her notable achievements, Ms. Joshi has edited the 2024–25 issue of WORT, the Annual Magazine (German Section) of the Department of Foreign Languages, SPPU. She has actively contributed to research in the areas of code-switching and code-mixing in Indian advertisements, the application of Indian aesthetics to Shakespearean tragedies, and the use of OTT platforms in language teaching.
