Dr. Tessy Thadathil has more than 25 years of teaching experience. She is currently the Officiating Principal of the Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce. She also heads the Department of Costing. Her doctoral thesis was in Sustainability Reporting.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil along with her team has helped in managing the Bachelor’s programmes integrated with the professional certification programmes of ACCA (UK), CIMA (UK), CMA USA. She has been in-charge of International Initiatives of the college for more than 10 years. She was also invited for teaching at the University of Hildesheim, Germany under the Staff Mobility Programme of Erasmus Plus, in the winter term of 2017/18.
She partnered with Dr. Joachim Griesbaum to help initiate a project which is currently a collaborative course titled "Intercultural Perspectives on Information Literacy & Metaliteracy (IPILM)”. This project now has instructors and students from six countries. She was invited to the international workshop of IPILM which was supported by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, Germany in August 2024.
Dr. Tessy Thadathil heads the Symbiosis Social Initiatives Programme (SSIP) and along with her team has helped execute research projects on themes such as Women and Hygiene, Financial Literacy, and Digital Literacy among Senior Citizens. Two of the projects were funded by Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), and the recommendations of one was also presented to and appreciated by the Ministry for Social Welfare and Empowerment.

Dr. Sheena Mathews is Professor and Head of the Department of Economics and Controller of Examination. With a robust academic career spanning 28 years, she brings exceptional expertise in Transport Economics, Microeconomics, International Economics, and Banking and Finance. Dr. Sheena Mathews holds a Ph.D. from Mumbai University, where her research focused on the economic analysis of travel demand behavior in Indian cities, with special reference to Pune. She also earned an M.Phil. from Pune University and is a UGC-NET qualified educator.
Dr.Sheena has made significant contributions to academic research, authoring and co-authoring multiple papers published in esteemed national and international journals. Her research spans critical areas such as sustainable urban transport, health economics, and student financial behavior. She has co-authored notable books including Changing Dynamics of the Indian Economy and Economics for Managers.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Mathews actively engages in shaping academic policy and student development at Symbiosis College. She serves as Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Economics, Faculty In-Charge of the Symbiosis Elocution and Debate Association and has played leading roles in various academic committees and student-centred initiatives.
Her excellence in teaching and research has been recognized through awards for curriculum design and best research papers at national conferences. She is also an active participant and organizer of national and international seminars, workshops, and symposiums aimed at addressing contemporary economic issues and has taken part in policy-driven projects like voter behaviour surveys in Pune.

Dr. Alpana Vaidya has over 20 years of experience both at undergraduate and post graduate level. She teaches the subjects Foundation of Psychology, Industrial Psychology, HRM, OD, Experimental Psychology Theory and Practical Social Psychology, and has research interests in the areas of Positive Psychology, Health and Well Being and Social Psychology. She is a recognized Ph.D. guide under the SPPU and is currently guiding 5 students. She received the “Best Innovation in Teaching” (SPPU) in 2013. She has delivered key note addresses at international conferences of AAICP in Indonesia and Taiwan and a talk at the International conference in South Korea. Besides, Dr. Alapan Vaidya has been a subject expert for syllabus framing of F.Y.B.A., Ph. D. Course work, Ph.D. proposal presentations.

She was Recognized and selected by World Education Congress as one of the Recipient of 100 most dedicated Professors Award 2019.She was Recipient of ILDC AMP Women Excellence Award 2020 and Recipient of Women in Education Leadership Award Presented by World Education Congress at Global Edu Tech Webinar held on 27th October 2020. Dr Anil Adagale has more than 24 years of teaching experience. He is the Chairperson, Board of Studies in English and Head of Department of English. He teaches various courses in English for B.A., B. Dr. Sharayu Bhakare has 15 years of teaching experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Commerce. Pune Municipal Corporation has conferred her with the ‘Best Teacher Award’. Her PhD study in Corporate Social Responsibility’ has been published by the German Publication ‘Lambert Academic Publishing’. She was selected by the English Speaking Union (ESU) and awarded scholarship to represent India in the ‘International Relations conference’ at Oxford, UK.She has presented research papers at National and International level and has received awards for some of her papers. She has several publications to her credit. She is the member of Business Practices and Business Administration Departments and specializes in teaching the subjects Entrepreneurship and General awareness 1.She is the faculty in charge of the ‘SCAC Entrepreneurs club’ and is actively engaged in organizing entrepreneurship skill building initiatives. Dr. Santosh Antarlal Marwadikumbhar is a distinguished academician with over 18 years of teaching and research experience in the fields of Accountancy, Costing, and Human Resource Management. Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Accountancy, Business Law Human Resource Management and the Ph.D. Research Centre. He is In- charge of NSS Department also.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), along with M.Com., M.Phil., and dual eligibility in NET (JRF) and SET. Dr. Marwadikumbhar specializes in subjects such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Direct and Indirect Taxes, Financial Management and Capital Markets and has been a committed educator at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His scholarly contributions span multiple UGC CARE journals and international conferences, with recent publications addressing contemporary topics like cloud accounting, whistle-blowing mechanisms, gender diversity, and employer satisfaction in recruitment outcomes. His research interests include Leadership, Innovation, AI, Social Networks, and Organizational Behaviour.
He has actively participated in faculty development programs and refresher courses on innovative pedagogy, e-content delivery, and higher education governance. Dr. Marwadikumbhar also holds key academic-administrative roles, being a member of statutory and academic committees, including examination boards and curriculum development panels.

Dr. Nilesh Waghmare is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy and Costing, with over 12 years of teaching experience. He holds key positions, including Head of the Department of Business Administration, Head of The Placement Cell, and Head of the Marathi Drama Circle. Additionally, he is a recognized Research Guide in Accountancy subject at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
With over 12 years of experience as an Assistant Professor and nearly 4 years as Head of The Placement Cell, he has developed expertise in various areas, including Accountancy, Costing, Finance, Stock Market, Strategic Cost Management, Taxation, Research Methodology, and Business Case Studies.
He teaches a range of subjects to undergraduate students, including Financial Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Strategic Cost Management, Corporate Law, Taxation and Audit, as well as Research Methodology. Over the past four academic years, he has successfully organized over 80 campus placement drives, securing placements for more than 800 students in over 35 prominent international companies. Dr. Zakira Shaikh is an experienced academician with over 16 years of teaching at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and specializes in Marketing and Retail Management. She teaches across Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs and serves as the Teacher In-Charge for the B.A./B.Com (Honours) Degree Programme, focusing on academic innovation and student enrichment. Dr. Shaikh is also the Nodal Officer of the OJT/Internship Cell, actively connecting students with industry opportunities to enhance practical learning. In addition, she plays a key role in institutional development as the Teacher In-Charge for Criterion 2 – Faculty Resources under the Binary NAAC Accreditation, and contributes to several academic and administrative committees.
