ExpressLocated in the heart of historic Pune and affiliated to Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce the Centre for Liberal Arts was established in 2006 for a Diploma and Certificate Programme. It prioritizes a broad interdisciplinary education, which is different from regular vocational or professional colleges. The centre fosters critical thinking, creativity and is a wholesome programme, which takes care of ones intellect, emotions and ethics. The academic opportunities for learning is vast and varied and the education involves a focus study in the disciplines of Humanities, Social Sciences, Language and Literature and Performing Arts with the aim of developing the ability to question and think critically. Teaching students what to think is comparatively easy. Helping them to learn how to think is quite another matter. It is an opportunity to learn and reflect in an environment free from most of the limitations of rigid academic structures. Instructions are more individualized and students are weaned away from the pressure cooker environment of the rat race and focus on the holistic aspects of learning.
