International Student Admissions

Overview

We are happy to announce that the admissions of International students (Foreign National, Person of Indian Origin, Overseas Citizen of India and Non Resident Indian) shall take place in Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce from this academic year onwards i.e. from 2018 onwards. Therefore, the students are requested to contact the College for admission formalities.

Category

Foreign Nationals:

A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport.

Person of Indian Origin (PIO):

As per the Government of India Notification dated 9th January 2015, all the existing ‘Persons of Indian Origin’ card holders registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India card holders (OCI).

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI):

A student is eligible to apply as OCI if he/she is granted with Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card.

NRI (Non Resident Indians):

A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination outside India

BACHELORS DEGREE:

  2. Three Years Diploma Course (after S.S.C. i.e. 10th Standard), of Board of Technical Education conducted by Government of Maharashtra or its equivalent.

MASTERS DEGREE:

  1. Graduate from any stream from a recognized College in India or any International University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi

  3. It is mandatory that the mark sheet is attested by Ministry of Education or Indian Embassy in your country or your Country Mission, i.e. your Embassy or Consulate in India.

  • Pay the Application Fee
  • Online Verification & Evaluation of the documents: When online application reaches along with the payment of Application fee and all the required documents; we will verify the uploaded documents and check the requisite qualifications for admission.
  • The offer letters will be sent to the selected students by email
  • Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce will issue a “Provisional Admission Letter” only to the foreign national students who require the Student Visa. This letter is issued only after receipt of entrance fee. Applicant can use this letter as a supporting document while applying for his/her students’ visa at the Indian Mission in his/her country.

Please Note: The Visa should be student’s Visa and should mention the name of “Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce”. Any other type of visa is invalid and final admission will not be granted to students who do not have a valid visa. For the interview at the Indian Embassy make sure that you carry relevant documents to prove how you intend to finance your education in India.

  • The student is expected to procure VISA on the basis of provisional admission letter and arrive in India with all relevant documents.
  • The student should report to Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) to complete the reporting formalities along with all ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. Subsequently, the student will proceed to Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (SCAC) along with the Joining Letter to complete the remaining formalities where he/she will be given login id password and will be asked to fill up the admission form and pay the tuition fee.
  • The clearance of the Eligibility is an essential factor for admission. The admission will be provisional till the clearance of the same. The student is liable to submit all the necessary documents as requested as per the category. Few documents which were not possible to be submitted at the time of reporting must reach Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) by 31st August. Students who fail to submit the documents within the stipulated date will not be allowed to appear for the semester I examination. They may have to forfeit the academic fee and may lose an academic year.

It is mandatory for all students to produce all the documents in original at the time of reporting, as have been uploaded at the time of filling the form.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Students are requested to please go through the information and procedure of online application, before applying.
  2. Please write your correct name and surname in the application form. No changes will be made later on.
  3. A valid Student Visa on arrival is a pre-requisite for admission. No admission will be granted on Tourist Visa / X-Visa / Medical Visa etc.
  4. All documents need to be translated into English.
  5. Visit SCIE with all original documents, valid Student Visa after you receive the Provisional Admission Letter.
  6. In case of foreign national, it is mandatory that Ministry of Education or Indian Embassy in your country or your Country Mission i.e. your Embassy or Consulate in India attest the mark sheet.
  7. It is mandatory for all students to produce the same documents in original at the time of reporting to SCIE, as have been uploaded at the time of filling the form.
  8. Only Students having passed 12th Std. are eligible for Bachelors Admission.
  9. Only students having Bachelor Degree are eligible for Masters Admission.
  10. In case the documents are found to be fake at the time of submission, the case will be rejected and legal action will be taken under Indian Penal Code.
  11. All international students are requested to obtain detailed information on fees for programmes available at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce before confirming the admission.
  12. In any circumstances, fees, once paid at Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), are not refundable and not transferable.
  13. All foreign national students from Non-English speaking countries have to appear for IELA, English Proficiency Test conducted by English Language Teaching Institute of Symbiosis (ELTIS). The date will be informed after reporting to SCIE.
  14. Students, who do not appear for IELA, will not be allowed to attend classes. Students, who fail in IELA, have to compulsorily attend the Remedial Course. Strict action will be taken against students who do not appear for English Proficiency Test.
  15. Students will not work with any Institute/Firm during the period of study. In case they are approached, they will have to inform FRO.
  16. No Indian can apply on behalf of an International student.
  17. Students having any discrepancy should clear it in time in order to get their Final Eligibility Letter.
  18. Foreign National Students will have to report to FRO within fourteen days of arrival and as and when necessary.
  19. SCAC and SCIE will not be responsible for the lectures, internal assessments etc that the student misses due to late admission, or for any other reason.

Additional Instructions

Additional Instructions for PIO/OCI

  1. All documents need to be translated into English.
  2. It is mandatory that alldocuments of sponsor parent mentioned in the list must be submitted in Original. There must be no pending documents at the time of submission.
  3. Only Passing Certificate may be pending, as it arrives late.
  4. Only those documents which have been uploaded earlier will be considered valid at the time of submission.
  5. Original Marksheet is mandatory.Do not upload any documents unless you have the original marksheet.
  6. In case the student has a Marksheet from a foreign university it should be accompanied with an Equivalence Certificate, from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
  7. During the first stage, Provisional Admission Letter will be issued. In case all documents are not original or as per the uploaded list, the admission will be cancelled.
  8. Visit SCIE with all uploaded original documents after you receive the Conditional Provisional Letter of Admission.
